300 line up for region s first mass vaccination clinic

Corvallis council to discuss building facade, camping, vaccine

The Corvallis City Council meets remotely at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Councilors are meeting away from their usual Monday slot because of the Martin Luther King. Jr. holiday. The meeting begins with a public hearing on an appeal of a Dec. 8 Historic Resources Commission decision which denied a request to replace the glass tile façade of the Rennie-Smith building at 255 SW Madison Ave. with plaster. Also on the agenda are action on the city’s Strategic Operational Plan, an update on city camping policies, information on the annual transportation operations annual adjustment and a discussion of the re-opening of the emergency operations center to deal with vaccine distribution.

Linn County, Samaritan plan COVID-19 shot clinics

Samaritan Health Services will partner with local governments to conduct COVID-19 vaccination clinics next week for residents of Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties who are in the state s first tier of eligibility. The clinics will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Linn County Fair & Expo Center, 3700 Knox Butte Road in Albany. Linn County Public Health Director Todd Noble said Samaritan is providing 2,000 vaccine doses to go with a “small allotment” the county has received from the state. Benton County will be providing some of its vaccine allotment for a series of clinics planned for the week of Jan. 25 at Oregon State University s Reser Stadium in Corvallis, which also will be open to eligible residents from the three-county area.

State to ramp up COVID-19 vaccinations

When will I be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination? How will I be notified? But the answers may not satisfy anyone not associated with health care if they think they are next in what likely will be a long line. Oregon Health Authority officials Friday said it could be months — perhaps as late as fall — before members of the general public will receive vaccinations. State guidelines are shifting nearly daily as new information about the COVID-19 pandemic becomes known. And when the time comes, people most likely will be notified by their local public health department, but details are still being worked out.
